Safe and Sound Protocol

15 hr
Group or Individual

Service Description

“Only when we are in a calm physiological state can we convey cues of safety to another.” ― Stephen W. Porges, What is SSP? The Safe and Sound Protocol (for Adults) is a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors. The SSP is delivered through specially-filter music that tones the middle ear muscle and activates the cranial nerves, thereby “waking up” your vagus nerve. This group is not a certifying group. It is a practical application experience. This may be a good fit for you if: >you experience ongoing or situational anxiety or depression >you have a history of trauma >you long for regulating tools >you have a history of auditory complaints >you want to send and receive accurate social cues What participants may expect in the group: >hands on use of the SSP app on a phone or device >shared experience in dyads and small groups >experiential practice of regulating resources >development of a personal resources toolkit Using SSP may help you to: >calm fight/flight/collapse response >better identify cues of danger and safety >connect with self, the world and others >increase knowledge of polyvagal theory >create enough safety to explore trauma, anxiety, and depression The format includes brief lectures, demonstrations, music, private reflection and sharing in dyads, and small group interactions, all in a confidential and welcoming zoom setting. You are never required to share personal information. Offered both as a process group or in 1:1 sessions. Process groups meet for 8-10 sessions of 75 min. All SSP clients have access to the protocol for 1 year from the start of use. Additional time can be added at the end of 1 year. Individual clients and group clients can expect a combination of practical, observed use, and psycho-education. Groups will be offered periodically throughout the year. Individual delivery is scheduled directly in the client portal. Is there more? More: https://integratedlistening.com/products/ssp-safe-sound-protocol/
